On Saying Yes!

If you’re reading this, chances are you read my first entry. I spoke about new adventures and wanting to create a place for spiritual guidance, connection, and to have some fun. That was a little while ago, as you can see. Life has a funny way of filling voids. When you think you have open space and time, new opportunities fill in, and your off again on a new adventure. And the vacuum is filled - that has been my experience. You may have seen the link for the book, The Last Breath. I am a contributing author in that remarkable book (Chapter 22!). Since its publication last September, I have been doing many more readings, exploring new book projects, and connecting with my new author friends. But sometimes, it’s not so easy to get started – at least it appears that way.

When you say “yes” to a new project, it is as if the universe offers extra sideroads - all for trying on for size. It is well worth taking the time to sit with new projects to see how they feel. One of my favorite teachers describes it this way: Is it a full-body YES, or an emphatic hell, no!? Does it tire you or inspire you? The closer you look, the more you can begin to decipher between the two and recognize the slight feelings of resistance that can crop up – like that fear that’s disguised as an excuse. If you are feeling only a slight internal pushback, it would be good to check-in and take a little more time to see why you’re not all in – or all out. Maybe you don’t feel ready?

Anything worthwhile I have ever done I have never felt prepared for. You already know that secret desire lurking in the corner of your heart. That thing you want to try, or learn, or be, or do. It’s time to explore that thing that is holding you back. Sometimes it’s fear. Fear sounds like this: It’s not practical. It doesn’t make sense, or the dreaded, what will they think.
